Σκάστρα ανοικτού τύπου – εμβόλου διαδοχικής εκτόνωσης (Sequential Blowoff Valve)
Η σκάστρα τοποθετείται επάνω στο κύκλωμα υψηλής πίεσης του κινητήρα. Ο σκοπός ύπαρξής της είναι να ξεφορτώνεται τον περιττό αέρα, στέλνοντάς τον από τον συμπιεστή της τουρμπίνας στην ατμόσφαιρα, όταν αφήνουμε το γκάζι, για να μην καταστραφεί ο συμπιεστής λόγω πάλμωσης.
Η σκάστρα ανοίγει μόλις φτάσει εντολή υποπίεσης από την πολλαπλή εισαγωγής, που σημαίνει ότι η πεταλούδα έκλεισε και ο περιττός αέρας πρέπει να φύγει από το κύκλωμα του intercooler.
Η διαφορά πίεσης που δημιουργείται από τις δυο πλευρές του διαφράγματος το μετακινεί προς τα πίσω, οπότε η βαλβίδα ανοίγει και η πίεση του κυκλώματος του intercooler φεύγει στην ατμόσφαιρα.
