Το ΒΥ-828-8 διακρίνεται για την απλότητα και την ευκολία χρήσης. Αισθητήρες υπερήχων μετρούν την απόσταση από το εμπόδιο, τότε η πληροφορία μεταδίδεται σε μια μικρή ψηφιακή οθόνη τοποθετημένη στο ταμπλό. Ο οδηγός μπορεί να δει πολύχρωμες γραμμές που εμφανίζονται στην οθόνη, αλλά και την ακριβή απόσταση από το αντικείμενο. Ταυτόχρονα ένα ενσωματωμένος βομβητής προειδοποιεί εκπέμποντας ένα ηχητικό σήμα (η συχνότητα του ηχητικό σήμα υποδεικνύει την απόσταση). Το σύστημα ενεργοποιείται μετά τη χρήση της όπισθεν.
