DPF φίλτρο μικροσωματιδίων (αιθάλης) με εξωτερική διάμετρο O 59,8 mm και μήκος 660 mm, ενισχυμένο με σιλικονούχο καρβίδιο (SiC ή καρβίδιο του πυριτίου) για καλύτερες θερμοανθεκτικές ιδιότητες και αντοχή. Αναλυτικότερα, το DPF (Φίλτρο Μικροσωματιδίων Πετρελαίου) είναι μια συσκευή, η οποία τοποθετείται στο σύστημα εξαγωγής των σύγχρονων πετρελαιοκίνητων (diesel) αυτοκινήτων για την επίτευξη της μείωσης εκπομπών αιθάλης, ώστε να πληρούν τα ευρωπαϊκά και ελληνικά πρότυπα εκπομπών ρύπων, που εφαρμόστηκαν στα επιβατικά αυτοκίνητα απαραίτητα από το 2009 και μετά βάση προδιαγραφών Euro 5. Κυρίως φιλτράρει τα τοξικά, μικροσκοπικά σωματίδια, τα οποία εκπέμπονται με τα καυσαέρια του κινητήρα και στόχος του είναι να μειώσει κατά 80% τις εκπομπές των βλαβερών μικροσωματιδίων (ακάθαρτα σωματίδια άνθρακα), που διαρρέουν στην ατμόσφαιρα και μπορούν να προκαλέσουν σοβαρά προβλήματα, τόσο στο περιβάλλον όσο και στην υγεία των ανθρώπων. Επειδή όμως τα φίλτρα έχουν περιορισμένο χώρο αποθήκευσης, τα μικροσωματίδια που κατακρατούνται πρέπει να «καίγονται» τακτικά και να αναγεννάται το DPF. Αν η συσσωρευμένη αιθάλη «μπλοκάρει» τη λειτουργία του φίλτρου, τότε ο κινητήρας και το turbo μπορεί να σταματήσει να λειτουργεί και να χρειάζεται επισκευή.
